KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Marilyn Sneiderman is Professional Practice Director of the Center for Innovation in Worker Organization at Rutgers University. Using her organizing background, she helped launch “Union Cities,” an initiative that united community, union, religious, and civil/immigrant rights groups to build local movements to fight for social and economic justice in states and cities. As a senior faculty member at the George Meany Center for Labor Studies, she focused on leadership training, civil and women’s rights, and labor/community organizing. Rather than focusing on organizing/bargaining and then bringing the community into the campaign, Marilyn will bring an entirely new perspective on community involvement and the local union.
Breakouts
Breakouts will include learning how to find and use all the provisions in your contract, how to build leaders through your bargaining team, and ways to effectively approach management.
